Community - How to Help
West Morley Primary School values the many community members that provide support for our students. You can become involved in a number of ways:
School Board - there are 5 Parent and 2 Community representatives on the School Board and nominations are sought from the school community when a vacancy exists.
P&C - an annual AGM is held at the beginning of the school year to elect committee positions, however, new members are always welcomed. Volunteers are always sought for major fundraising events held throughout the year. Join their Facebook page to stay connected with current events.
EdConnect - a community based volunteer program that welcomes any community members willing to work within a school for a minimum of 1 hour per week.
Class assistance - classroom teachers are always looking for parents who can assist with morning reading, washing, school excursions and general classroom assistance. Please talk to your child's teacher if you can assist.
School events - large community events are held throughout the year such as Harmony Day, Busy Bees and Sporting Carnivals. The school welcomes volunteers to assist with these events. Please mark your calendar with these key events and contact the school if you are able to assist.
River Rangers - community members are sometimes required to assist in River Ranger Cadets activities such as the camp and sleepover. Please talk to our River Rangers coordinators should you wish to assist.
Traffic Warden - a parent volunteer assisted the school with the control of traffic during afternoon collection for nearly 4 years. This has established some of the current routines built around the use of the carpark. The school welcomes anyone who is willing to continue this role during school collection times.
