Community - Parents and Citizens (P&C)

P&C stands for Parents and Community Association, we are a group of interested parents of the school who meet with our Principal twice a term to discuss the direction of the school and come up with ideas for fundraising and how we can support school.

Meetings are held in the Staff room in week three and week seven of each term. These are advertised on the school planner and the classroom pinboards. The meetings are generally about 90 minutes long.

Any adult can join the P&C regardless of gender, age, and ethnicity. The more diverse the group the better it will represent our school.

• To encourage a positive school community spirit

• A means for all parents and caregivers to participate and get involved with the school and teachers

• Fundraising for literacy, learning and library resources, excursions, incursions and amenities for the school.

• Run the uniform shop with parent volunteers helping to sell school uniforms • Run the Canteen with a Manager and parent volunteers.

• Run school banking with assistance from Commonwealth Bank and parent volunteers.

The West Morley Primary School P&C Association is a registered charity. Each family is encouraged to pay a $30 contribution per year to assist with funding for the P&C. As the P&C is a registered charity, your donation is tax deductable and greatly appreciated.

We have a Facebook page; it has been created to share upcoming events, news and information. We welcome parents and guardians of children at the school to join and stay in touch. To become a member please look up our name, answer a couple of questions and request to join; West Morley Primary School Parents & Community.

The uniform shop is open on Tuesday afternoons from 2.30pm until 3.00pm. The Unform Shop now offers Eftpos as well as cash transactions (exact change is preferred), and orders made by the QKR! App. Please note: the cut off time for QKR! App orders is 1pm Tuesdays during school term. We also have second hand uniforms available for sale. Please feel free to drop off any uniforms that you may longer need so that we can have a variety of sizes available for purchase.

The canteen is open Mondays and Fridays for both recess and lunch. We have a summer and winter menu that can be found at the canteen or on the school’s website. We accept cash transactions and orders can also be made by the QKR! App. Plesae note: the cut off time for QKR! App orders is 8:45am Mondays and Fridays.

Through the continued support of fundraising and parent involvement we have helped fund new library books, library furniture and the library reading chair, Year 6 Camp, playground boat for ECE, floor artwork and toys in the undercover area, class excursions and incursions, bus fares and canteen equipment. Recent major contributions have consisted with the Construction of the Undercover Play Area in 2018, Canteen Rennovation in 2019 and in 2021 the Nature Playground Project. A small portion of funds also contribute to acknowledging P&C parents and volunteers who leave with graduating students.

Past fundraising activities have included Sausage sizzles at Bunnings and School faction carnival, Cake stalls, Mother’s Day raffles, Movie nights, Lapathon, Card and calendar artworks, Car boot stall and Discos.

If you have any free time there are plenty of opportunities for you to help the P&C and your children.

We are always on the lookout for new ideas so come along, get involved with the school community and meet some other like minded people, even make some new friends!
