Chaplain

West Morley Primary School has been fortunate to access funding from the State Government to assist with the provision of a School Chaplain.

The Chaplain provides non-faith based support for students and families requiring social or emotional support in times of need.

Child Development Services

The metropolitan Child Development Service provides a range of assessment, early intervention and treatment services to children with developmental delay or difficulty that impact on function, participation and/or parent-child relationship.

Their team of clinicians include Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Clinical Psychologists, Paediatricians, Therapy Assistants, Audiologists and Nurses. Children may see one or more clinician, depending on their needs.

Hampton Dental Clinic

West Morley Primary School is aligned with the Hampton Park DTC, situated at Hampton Park Primary School.

Dental checks are arranged via the Dental Clinic sending out apointment letters for all new students to our school from Pre-Primary to Year 6.
 

Parents can also contact the Dental Clinic to make a time for a check up if they feel there is a concern with their student. This service is provided by the Health Department of WA.

Community Nurse

School Health Services promote improved health outcomes for school aged children and young people and are delivered using a population-based approach to universal and targeted prevention, health promotion and early identification and intervention, for children and adolescents in schools.

The Department of Education (DoE) is a joint funder of the school health program.

Services include:

  • vision and hearing screening and surveillance
  • access to parenting programs
  • early detection and referral of children exhibiting mental health risk factors
  • developmental assessments and referral to other specialist services such as Community Health’s Child Development Service (CDS) as required.
